Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL) has expanded the production capacity of its plant at Manesar, Haryana by one lakh units per annum. Backed by this additional assembly line, the total manufacturing capability at Manesar now stands at nine lakh vehicles per annum.
This assembly line has been added to the existing Plant-A of the three manufacturing facilities at Manesar. Vehicles including Brezza, Ertiga, Wagon R, Dzire, Ciaz and Celerio are manufactured at this facility. This new assembly line boasts of technologies focused on human ergonomics, improving productivity and enhancing traceability. The facility in Manesar has contributed aggregating to over 95 lakh units in MSIL’s three-crore production milestone.
Envisioning doubled capacity to four million vehicles per annum over the next seven-eight years, the company views this capacity addition as a step towards this goal. It will help serve customers faster and augmenting its overall capability to manufacture up to 23.5-lakh units per annum.
MSIL’s Manesar facility was inaugurated in February 2007 with the start of Plant A, and eventually, the the company added Plant-B in 2011 and Plant-C in 2013.
