Gensol Engineering has secured an EPC order worth Rs 520 crore from a leading power generation utility in Maharashtra. The project involves the development of a 100 MWAC/135 MWp ground-mount solar PV power project across 500 acres of land.
For Gensol, this is the largest-ever turnkey EPC order win in size and value from a power utility. Aligning with the policy introduced by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) in April 2022, the project aims to enhance the state's energy infrastructure while contributing towards the nation-wide sustainable energy goals.
For a project of this scale, Gensol's role spans the entire lifecycle, starting from land acquisition, to design, engineering, procurement, and logistics. The scope also covers civil and electrical engineering works, securing necessary clearances, the installation and commissioning of the plant, and a commitment to three years of operational management, inclusive of maintenance for the plant’s switchyard and its extensive transmission infrastructure.
While the awarding of the contract reflects the company's competence and consistency of on-time delivery of projects within the renewable energy segment, Gensol Engineering is well-positioned to deliver as per the stipulated completion timeline of 15 months.
