Union home minister Rajnath Singh, while reviewing development works of his Parliamentary constituency Lucknow, declared that the incomplete works on the 94-km long ring road - Kisan Path - would be completed by the beginning of 2019
Singh held a meeting with the officials of the state government, NHAI, railways and Lucknow Municipal Corporation at his official residence in Lucknow on Sunday to review the progress of works initiated by him since he was elected MP from Lucknow. Flooded with the complaints of traffic jams and growing congestion in the city, Singh had laid the foundation of the new ring road, named as Kisan Path and promised to complete it in three years. The NHAI is executing the project, while the state government is acquiring the land for the project
After the meeting, Singh directed the NHAI and the railways to complete the remaining land acquisition for the Kisan Path and complete the two overbridges on the new ring road at the earliest. He also spoke to deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, who informed him that the PWD had already released Rs 40 crore for the new ring road for which Singh had laid foundation about two years ago and work was in progress
The home minister also reviewed the progress at the Gomtinagar railway station and instructed the railway officials to expedite the remaining works. While addressing LMC officials, Singh asked them to complete work for handpumps, public toilets, roads and other civic amenities in various localities
