Value: 10000 Crore | Indian conglomerate, Essar Group will make an investment of around Rs 10,000 crore in Jharkhand
The company plans to set up a 1,200 MW power plant at Tori in Latehar district. The power plant project is at an advanced stage of completion, with more than Rs 4,700 crore already invested in it. All statutory clearances have been accorded by the state government, and Essar Group is awaiting fuel linkage since Supreme Court de-allocated the coal blocks that were allotted as fuel source
The company intends to develop Toskiud North Coal Mine with an estimated investment of around Rs 1,100 crore
Once completed, both the projects will generate employment opportunities to around 5,500 people
In addition, Aegis, the company’s outsourcing business, has set up a BPO facility at Jamshedpur with 2,500 seating capacity and is considering building a similar facility at Ranchi with 2,000 seating capacity
