Emami Agrotech, part of the Emami group, is investing Rs 300 crore to expand the refining capacity of its edible oil facility in Haldia
The company at present, has a capacity of around 4,000 tonne per day (tpd) of edible oil manufacturing between the two plants in Haldia and Krishnapatnam
With the proposed expansion in the Haldia unit, the capacity of the plant will increase by another 1,000 tonne per day, thereby taking up its total capacity to 4,000 tonne per day
The expansion of the Haldia unit will be completed by the end of 2016
The expansion will also include setting up of a 7.5 MW captive power plant
