The Union Cabinet has approved a proposal to provide 400 ha of uncultivable farm land at Central State Farm (CSF), Jetsar, in Rajasthan for setting up of more than 200 MW solar power plant
The land is in the possession of National Seeds Corporation (NSC), a Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the administrative control of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare
The solar power plant will be set up by a CPSE, which will be selected through negotiation
The CPSE will bear installation costs of the solar power plant and has to do a tariff-based competitive bidding for the project
The CPSE will utilise the land for a period of 25 years, which may extend on mutually agreed terms, while the entire plant will be surrendered to NSC on as is basis after completing the land use agreement
